ASWM Code of Conduct

Our events are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. In order to foster a positive and professional learning environment, we expect participants to follow our code of conduct. It applies to all spaces of ASWM both physical and virtual including, but not limited to online webinars and classes, workshops, email lists, online forums, and evaluation instruments.

By registering for and/or participating in ASWM environments, you agree to abide by the following code of conduct:

Use welcoming and inclusive language

Be respectful of different or divergent viewpoints and experiences

Gracefully accept disagreement or constructive criticism

Show courtesy and respect towards other community members

Refrain from written or verbal comments which have the effect of excluding people based on membership in or affiliation with any specific group

Avoid disruptive behavior that materially and substantially interferes with or obstructs the teaching or learning, or which causes someone to fear for their safety, such as through intimidation, threats or violent language

Not to publish private communication without consent

Not to use any materials or images without consent

Failure to abide by this agreement may result in removal from the event in question and may progress to a ban from ASWM sponsored events.

Reporting an incident:

Any suspected violation of the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, or of any applicable law, will be thoroughly investigated and appropriate action taken.

Reports can be taken during a conference or in the months and years following an ASWM program. All reports of suspected violations will be thoroughly investigated; you will receive a response if possible and appropriate. There will be no reprisals against any individual reporting a violation or suspected violation in good faith.

If you know of, or suspect, a violation of ASWMs Code of Conduct, or a violation of any law, you should report the issue.
